Pet Exams in Mint Hill, NC 28227

Cats and dogs age much more quickly than we do, meaning that a lot can happen in one year’s time! That’s why we recommend annual or semiannual pet exams at our hospital in Mint Hill, NC. With routine vet visits, we can keep an eye on your pet’s changing health. Should we notice any abnormalities, we can address them immediately to minimize their need for treatment (and your costs, too!).

Semi-annual & Annual pet exams

A semi-annual/annual pet exam is an important part of keeping your pet healthy. During the exam, your veterinarian will check your pet for any signs of health problems and will provide vaccinations and other preventive care. Pet exams can help to catch health problems early when they are easier to treat. They can also help you to avoid potential emergencies and costly veterinary bills. For these reasons, it is important to schedule pet exams for your furry friend.

"They're awesome and they care deeply about you and your pet."

Custom Wellness Care Through Every Life Stage

At Mint Hill Animal Hospital, we provide personalized care for each pet based on their age and individual needs. Each pet exam is designed to suit your unique pet so we cover the most ground and deliver the care they need to stay in peak health.

We also provide Semi-Annual and Annual Exams for your pet.

Here are some ways our care changes as they age:

Puppies and Kittens

Young pets require consistent veterinary care throughout their first year of life. We’ll set them up with an appropriate vaccination schedule, talk to you about nutrition, check them for intestinal parasites and provide them with deworming. Additionally, we can answer your questions about house training, behavior problems, and more.

Adult Dogs and Cats

Adult pets are at the prime of their life, but still require routine exams to keep them healthy. We’ll perform a thorough physical exam, run age-appropriate blood work to check for any underlying conditions, and administer vaccinations if they are due. Furthermore, we’ll prescribe parasite prevention to keep them free from fleas, ticks, heartworms, and more.

Senior Dogs and Cats

Senior pets develop many of the same conditions that we do including arthritis, senility, and old age aches and pains. Our goal is to keep your pet healthy and comfortable through their golden years. To do so, we recommend seeing them semiannually. We’ll run blood work to stay on top of any developing conditions, keep up with the necessary vaccinations, and may develop a pain management plan if they suffer from any discomfort.

Flea, Tick & Heartworm Prevention in Mint Hill, NC

An essential part of every pet’s wellness plan is flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. These parasites can endanger your pet’s well-being with dangerous diseases including Bartonella, Lyme disease, and heartworm disease. With our milder winters, these pests don’t always die out, so it’s essential you keep up with parasite prevention through every season!
